Madeleine Carroll, Chair                                   Tom Shafer

Ed Heyn                       Tom Lippert                 John Newcomer

Dean Schmaltz  Wendie Shafer

Chairman Carroll called the meeting at order at 6:50pm in the Township Office. The minutes of the July 9, 2007 Planning Commission meeting were distributed and discussed.  Ed Heyn moved, Seconded by Dean Schmaltz to approve the meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously. There was no building inspector report.  There was no Zoning Administrator’s report.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS – Commissioner Heyn brought a hand written statement pointing out several ordinance violations that have been brought to the attention of the Board, but have not been acted upon.  He would like to see a list of violations kept along with records and a “check-off “when the violation is resolved. Commissioner W. Shafer presented a file of letters sent in reference to violations.  Chairman Carroll related that since the Planning Commission spends much time, effort and expense revising the ordinance, it should be enforced more rigorously.

NEW BUSINESS –Ed Heyn brought up the problem of signs in the road right-of-way at Shawnee and Cleveland.  A resident expressed his concern that his young daughter who just got her driver’s license could have difficulty seeing adequately at the intersection.

Commissioner Lippert asked if anyone had addressed the cars for sale on Shawnee Rd. next to Mead’s gold course. W. Shafer said, yes, Kim Fowler, Ordinance Enforcement Officer was working on it.

Much discussion was focused on the Worthenbury rental operating without a Special Use Permit. It s felt that Mr. Salisbury needs to submit an application for a Special Use to come into compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. The next meeting of the Baroda Township Planning Commission is to be held on September 10, 2007 at 6:30 P.M.

Respectfully submitter by Wendie Shafer, for the Secretary of the Baroda Township Planning Commission.
