Chairman David Schultz, called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. in the Baroda Township Municipal Building Meeting Room. There was no audience member.

The minutes of the March 8, 2010 Planning Commission meetings were distributed and discussed. Tom Shafer moved, seconded by David Schultz to approve the minutes of the March 8, 2010 meeting as presented,  Vote - All Yes. M.C.

There was no Building Inspector’s report.  Jim Pheifer reported that he had received a couple of calls but had approved no Zoning Permits for the past month

OLD BUSINESS – The Planning Commission discussed the issue of the minimum lot size in the Agricultural zone.  Wendie Shafer distributed a letter from Attorney Ben Schwartz provided by Jim Pheifer giving his interpretation of the current Zoning Ordinance language in Section 9.04 describing the minimum lot size for the Agricultural Zone. W. Shafer relayed the message from Tom Lippert that he would like for the Commission to either change the Lots size to a minimum of two acres with no regulations for animals, or change the minimum to five acres with no language regulating animals.  After much discussion the Commissioners came to a consensus that the Zoning Ordinance language for Section  9.04 should be changed to read.; Minimum Lots size in the Agricultural Zone – 2 (two) acres.  Commissioners thought it would be best to have the public hearing for the Lot size minimum requirement along with the May meeting, and postpone the Master Plan Public Hearing until June 14, 2010 so that Tom Lippert can be present.

NEW BUSINESS – W. Shafer distributed two letters of comment on the Master Plan, and read a letter to the Planning commission from a prospective Planning Commission member.  Dean Schmaltz asked if Jim Brow had been in touch with Tim Brazinsky.

Jim Pheifer said that he would not be able to attend the May 10, 2010 Planning Commission meeting.

ADJOURNMENT – The meeting was adjourned by David Schultz at 7:25 p.m.  The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is to be held on May 10, 2010 and is to be accompanied by a Public hearing for deleting the language that regulates animals in Section 9.04 in the Agricultural zone.
