Chairman David Schultz called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. in the Baroda Township Municipal Building Meeting Room. There was no audience member.

 

The minutes of the last Planning Commission meeting were distributed and discussed.  Ed Heyn moved, seconded by Tom Shafer to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2010 meeting as presented, Vote - All Yes. Motion Carried. 

 

Howard Gaul  reported on the building permits he has issued in the past months.  Permit # 10-03 a garage and breezeway costing $16,000, #4 a 40 x 50 pole barn costing $18,000, #5 help house addition costing $5,000, #6  a 28 x 40 garage costing $21,000, and # 7 a deck costing $5,000.

 

Jim Pheifer reported that he issued a zoning permit to Ed Heyn in the past month.

 

Chairman David Schultz opened the Public hearing explaining that the purpose of the hearing was to hear public opinion on adopting the new 2010 Master Plan.  There was no public comment  David Schultz closed the public hearing.

 

David Schultz asked for a motion to vote on adopting an ordinance to recommend to the Baroda Township Board to adopt the 2010 Master Plan.  Tom Lippert moved, seconded by Dean Schmaltz to adopt a resolution to recommend to the Baroda Township Board to approve the   2010 Master Plan as corrected. By Roll Call Vote- Tom Lippert-Yes, Wendie Shafer-Yes, Ed Heyn-Yes, Dean Schmaltz-Yes, Tom Shafer –Yes, David Schultz-Yes. Jason Steffes-Absent.  Resolution Adopted.

 

NEW BUSINESS – Wendie Shafer mentioned that she had made copies of three Wind Turbine Ordinances, but had left them at home.  There was brief discussion on wind turbines having gone up in great quantity in Indiana, and companies approaching farmers in Eau Claire, Pipestone Twp, and other areas of Michigan to consider becoming part of a wind farm area.

 

ADJOURNMENT – The meeting was adjourned by Chairman, David Schultz at 7:09 p.m.  The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission is to be held on July 12, 2010
